Day 1:

11:00am We meet at our hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the end of this trip we have time to explore this city, so we hit the road early and start our journey to canyon country. Today we will stop for an early lunch in the famous small town of Seligman, AZ, better known as “the birth place of route 66”. In the afternoon, we will arrive at Grand Canyon National Park, known as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. You will have time this afternoon to explore the Canyon from the rim, visit the information plaza, and see the sunset. Today makes a good introduction to what the Canyon has to offer, and sets you up for a whole day of exploring into the canyon tomorrow. Tonight will be your first night in a tent, so your guide will give a demonstration on how to properly pitch your tent, and explain how we like to set up our camps.

*Camping night, dinner included

Included Activities
  • Route 66
  • Grand Canyon National Park
Optional Activities
  • Walking, hiking
  • Sunset with group

Day 2:

Today is your day to hike down into the Grand Canyon. Because of factors including elevation, heat, roughness of the trails, the Grand Canyon hikes can be a challenge. Depending on your fitness level, there are a few different options for how far down into the Canyon we recommend you hike. Your guide will be able to advise you which trail and hiking distance will be best for you based on weather, your fitness and how you want to spend the day. If you have some extra time this afternoon, your guide will also make available a helicopter tour at you own expense. Time permitting, this evening you will have the opportunity to see the most watched IMAX movie ever made, the “Grand Canyon Experience”.

*Camping night, breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Included Activities
  • Grand Canyon National Park
Optional Activities
  • Walking, hiking
  • Sunset with group
  • IMAX Movie, $14
  • Helicopter flight: $349 for long flight 40-45 mins

Day 3:

Today is a real treat that not many other Adventure trips offer in the South West USA. We venture onto the largest Native American Reservation in the USA to Monument Valley Tribal Park. Here you will have the opportunity to take an optional 2 1/2 hour jeep tour through the park with a Navajo guide ($65) or go on an afternoon hike around Mitton Monument with your guide. This is one of the most special places in the Southwest, and we will have the afternoon to fully experience the Park. We camp tonight on the reservation, not far from the park. This area has very little ‘light pollution’ meaning at night…you will see more stars here than just about anywhere else in the country, so no need to get to bed too early!

*Camping night, breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Included Activities
  • Monument Valley Tribal Park
Optional Activities
  • Walking, Hiking
  • Navajo guided Jeep tour $75

Day 4:

We pack up camp after a leisurely breakfast this morning, and hit the road to the north, our next destination being the second largest man made lake in the USA, Lake Powell. Our drive takes us through the painted desert of Northern Arizona. This afternoon we visit the Glen Canyon Dam and make a short hike together to a spectacular view of horseshoe bend. Next we have the opportunity to do one of the most popular optional activities on this trip and one of the most famous places in the Southwest, Antelope Canyon. Reservations are required weeks in advance, so we automatically take care of everything for the group. If you decide you do not want to participate in this activity, you just let the guide know and they will arrange an alternate activity. Usually this means you will spend extra time at Lake Powell, which is amazing on a hot summers day. After Everyone has a chance to swim this afternoon, we make our final 1.5 hr drive to a very comfortable camp for the next 2 nights.

*Camping night, breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Included Activities
  • Horseshoe Bend, short walk
  • Swimming
Optional Activities
  • Antelope Canyon tour $85-$95

Day 5:

Today we get to spend all day at Bryce Canyon National Park. With the many hiking trails, and beautiful Limestone “Hoodoo” formations, Bryce Canyon tends to be the most memorable place for at least a few members of our trips. The hiking here is strenuous, usually with a bit of elevation change, but well worth the effort! Because this part of the southwest is high in elevation, the sun can be intense, and we want to make sure to plan accordingly for the day. We have multiple options on how to spend our time today, so depending on the weather, and your group, fitness levels, and interests…your tour guide will make a plan to get the most out of today for everyone. Sometimes the group will split up on longer vs shorter hikes, and sometimes we all stick together. Flexibility make it possible for everyone to get the most out of the day. Horseback rides are also sometimes available. If you are interested in a horseback riding tour with amazing views, be sure to ask your guide to check on availability!  Tonight because of the higher elevation we are at , temperatures will drop. Tonight is usually the coldest night of the trip.

*Camping night, breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Included Activities
  • Bryce Canyon National Park
Optional Activities
  • walking, hiking
  • Horseback riding ~$90 (limited availability)

Day 6:

This morning we continue our drive to the west to Zion National Park. Zion has become one of the most popular spots for the adventurous hikers over the past ten years. The park features some of the most exciting trails in the National Park system. Home to the worlds largest sandstone cliffs, Zion will take your breath away! There are many hiking opportunities for today (really easy or really strenuous!) and you guide will be able to help you make a decision as to which hike or hikes will fit your needs. Zion is famous for the ‘Narrows’ where you go for a hike following the Virgin river upstream until literally the trail means hiking in the river, truly amazing experience. Also on hot afternoons, swimming in the Virgin river is a must so have the swim suit at the ready!

*Camping night, breakfast, lunch and dinner included

Included Activities
  • Zion National Park
Optional Activities
  • walking, hiking
  • Swimming, Virgin River

Day 7:

After packing up camp, we drive to Las Vegas and get acquainted with the city driving down the strip on the way to our hotel. This city is big, and it can be quite overwhelming, especially after spending a week in the desert. Your guide will talk to you about the different attractions and activities available to you for the evening. Your guide will also organize an optional Party Bus limo tour for an hour or two if you are interested in riding around Vegas in style! Often times there is a Western Sun group, and sometimes a Cali-Sun tour group in town the same night, so we get to make one big super fun APA Party! Usually our groups end up partying together late into the night, going clubbing or just walking the strip seeing the sights. Just don’t miss your flight home!

*Hotel night, breakfast included and lunch

Included Activities
  • Las Vegas City Tour
Optional Activities
  • shopping on Strip
  • Casino gambling, clubbing (over 21)
